Who would of thought that it’s been 50 years since the great flood of 1969? We decided to locate the program in perhaps the community that had the most devastation in Holmes Co. The entire town of Killbuck suffered property loss and loss of life during this epic flood. The format of the program will start with a flood overview by historians from the Holmes Co. Historical Society and the Killbuck Valley Historical Society. The Killbuck Valley Museum will feature a special exhibit for the rest of the season on the flood. A collection of newspaper articles about the flood published by Lucille Lowe has been reproduced as a 50th anniversary limited release. Only 50 copies will be available for sale for $5.00 that day. The remaining copies will be available at the Killbuck Valley Museum. The second half of the program is open mic for you to share your flood stories. Bring your photos of the flood to share. The Holmes Co. Historical Society has recently acquired a collection of color aerial shots taken thru the entire Killbuck Valley including Millersburg and Clark. So bring your memories, relatives and friends for a look back on one of Holmes Co. worst natural disasters. Program is free. Donation accepted.
