Quick Facts
The county population of approximately 40,000 includes about 19,000 Amish. Millersburg, the county seat, is the home of Pomerene Hospital, government offices, the main post office, banks, grocery stores, shops, a library and a variety of offices.
The county's two school districts, West and East, enroll about 4,600 students in two high schools, one middle school, and fourteen elementary schools. Special learning needs are met at the Holmes County Training Center.
The county has three commissioners, 14 township trustees and many churches, clubs, and organizations. Youth groups include Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, and 4-H.
Our newspapers are the Holmes County Hub, The Bargain Hunter, and the Holmes County Journal. The local radio station is WKLM 95.3 FM.
